The numbers written on the bubbles are at the fart level. And the number written on passersby is the “notice count”.
When you click to pop a bubble and let out a fart, the value corresponding to that level will be subtracted from the surrounding “awareness count”.
This means that if you fart a lot or make a loud fart, you’re more likely to be noticed by passersby.
